So, who are some of these big dreamers that made things happen. The people that left not only a legacy but their footprint on the community as well. Here are some of the names behind a few well-known South Florida landmarks. The names of people that left a footprint on the community and still inspire people today.

Stranahan House (Fort Lauderdale): Frank Stranahan built the home in 1901 for himself and his wife who was the first school teacher in Fort Lauderdale. The first floor was originally a trading post and the second floor was a community hall.

Young Circle (Hollywood): Joseph W. Young turned a low-lying tract of land between Hallandale and Dania into his dream city of Hollywood-by-the-sea. The lakes, the broad boulevard, and the eastern golf course and traffic circle were all a part of his master plan.

Sistrunk Boulevard (Broward County): James Franklin Sistrunk was Broward County’s first black doctor. He helped establish Fort Lauderdale’s first medical practice for African Americans.

Virginia S. Young Elementary School (Fort Lauderdale): Virginia Young is so far the only female Fort Lauderdale mayor. She served on the school board and county commission.

Cooley’s Landing (Broward County): Cooley’s Landing is named after William Cooley who was one of the first American settlers and a regional leader in what is now known as Broward County.

Huizenga Plaza (Fort Lauderdale):  The park was named after Wayne Huizenga who founded three Fortune 500 corporations including AutoNation, Blockbuster, and Waste Management.

Virtual Office - Lakeside Executive Suites

A virtual office is an excellent solution for start-ups and small businesses looking to keep costs low yet still portray a professional image. Often times, business owners find that the constraints of running a business out of their home or the nearest coffee shop can hinder sales, motivation, and productivity. Being on call 24/7 to answer the phone and the inability to separate work from home are two common complaints that necessitate the change from a home office to a virtual office.

How you use a virtual office depends on the demands of your business. You might not want to answer calls at all, or maybe you just need an answering service for when you’re out of the office.  On the other hand, you might need a service that takes full responsibility for all of your business communications.  You might also need a professional meeting space at your disposal to entertain clients or give your business a look of distinction and success with a professional mailing address.

Whatever your motivation is, when looking for a virtual office provider, look for the following services:

• Dedicated business phone number

• Professional live receptionist answering calls in your business name

• Corporate mailing address

• Business fax number

• Fax forwarding to email

• Voice mail forwarding to email

• Corporate voice mail boxes

• Call forwarding to multiple phone numbers

Lakeside Executive Suites is the industry gold standard when it comes to virtual office services.
